Outdoor life is my profession and passion

My outdoor passion started with skiing which took me from the fells in Northern Finland to the mountains, first in the Alps and then in North-America. Nowadays my favourite skiing terrain is in Northern Scandinavia.

Over the years I qualified as a Ski Guide thorough the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and an Avalanche Professional thorough Canadian Avalanche Association. In Canada, I worked as a ski guide at a Backcountry and Cat Ski Lodge.

I also worked in North America at National Outdoor Leadership School as a Field Instructor leading extended winter and summer expeditions as well as sailing and horsepacking courses. Those experiences provided a strong foundation for my later work as a Senior Lecturer in Adventure and Outdoor Education at the Humak University of Applied Sciences.

Presently, I divide my time between avalanche education, guiding and teaching. I’m currently the responsible teacher for the Specialist Vocational Qualification in Wilderness and Nature Guiding at Lappia Vocational College.

My career path has been and still is a lifestyle choice. I’m happy I have had the courage to follow my heart.
